Rose Cottage, now called Mallard Cottage
Rose Cottage was the home of Henry Minter and his family - the photo of Henry and family in front
of the cottage is thought to date from about 1889. The cottage is now called Mallard Cottage and is now the home of Michael and Jo Minter
of Sandilane Nurseries.
Vine Cottage, now called Durlock House
Vine Cottage was rented by James Spratt then by his son Henry Spratt, and later by his daughter Maria
and her husband Henry Minter until they moved to Rose Cottage. The cottage has been much extended and modernised in recent years.
Fairview, now called Sandilands
The house was built by Albert Edward Minter and he and his family lived there for many years.
Roderick Minter later lived there until his death and Margaret Young's grandfather Frank Leslie Minter was born there in
1892 in a top room on the right looking at the photo. Michael and Jo Minter's son Andrew lives in the house today.
