The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2001, at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Minter was born in Rockingham County to the late Oscar Lillard and Ella Martin Lillard. She was a homemaker and a member of Dan River Primitive Baptist Church. She was a longtime member of the Happy Home, Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James O. Scott and Boyd Minter; and a daughter, Millie Shumate. She is survived by her daughters, Brownie Toler of Ruffin and Inez Baynes and husband, F.O. of Reidsville; son-in-law, Garland Shumate of Reidsville; grandchildren, Douglas, Dennis and Danny Shumate, Carol Pryor, Russ Carter, Johnny, Jay and Jeffrey Toler, Debbie Mundy and Terry Dodson; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Julia James of Reidsville and Sadie Carter of Ruffin.
