  Notes	Baptised as William Henry per Cliff Minter. But known later in life as Henry C Minter. 1862 - 65 Served in the military and in the US Civil War in Co. 1, 8th Regt. NY Calvalry. In July 1863 at the Battle of Gettysburg he was injured by having his horse shot from under him, by the Rebels, the horse having injured Henry's leg by falling on him. Discharged from the military on 7 June 1865. 1890: appeared in the Veterans Rolls, living in Oneida, New York, USA 1894 Residence of Henry C. Minter. May 27, 1912 Notarized Statement Declaration of Pension - Henry C. Minter. Moved to Los Angeles County , California in 1894 1897 Deposition A Case of Henry C. Minter (Pension Application) (The U.S. Pension office was requiring statements from people who could certify his claim to an injury during the Civil War.) Mary Collins – sister William Minter – brother now lives in Utica, New York Mother is 85 years old. Lives at 80 Nassau St., Rochester, NY in the care of W.J. Huttenschmidt. Her health is bad. My father is dead. Other brothers and sisters out west …they left home before I enlisted (1862). 1900 U.S. Census Paris, Oneida County, New York: Henry Minter (head, born Sep 1841 in New York (sic), age 59, married 26 years, parents born in England), Mary A (wife, born Oct 1847, aged 50, married 26 years, no children, born Nw York, as werer parents) and William (son [adopted], born Mar 1886, aged 14, at school, born New York, as were parents). 1905: living at 433 W. Street, Los Angeles, CA, USA. 1910 US census: in Long Beach, Los Angeles, California, Henry C (69) and Mary A (61) 1920 U.S. Census Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California, Henry C (78) and Mary (68). There is a memorial stone for Henry at Sunnyside Cemetery, Long Beach, Los Angeles, California, USA . It is inscribed: HENRY C. MINTER 1841 - 1922 8th N.Y. VOL. CAVL.
