| Notes |
- April 2013: until the discovery of his Rhodesian Death Notice, Henry wasn't associated with this family since he was born some 5 years after Robert Arthur Minter died. But the Notice makes the link with his sister Phyllis. The identity of Henry Robert's father hasn't been established - his birth certificate, which I have obtained, gives his father's name as Henry Minter, a Private in the 9th Middlesex Regiment, a cabinet maker in civvy street. The birth was registered in the Hampstead Registration District and Henry's mother's name is shown as Edith Minter of 31St Georges Road, which is where Henry Robert was actually born. Despite looking at a number of possible canditates I can't find a Henry Minter who might have been the father and, in case, why did the birth take place in Hampstead? Further progress might be made if the personnel details of the 9th Middlesex Regiment were available.
Henry's Death Notice indicates that he died aged 52, unmarried, a clerk in holy orders. It gives the following information about relatives: Mrs P Thurtle, Woking UK (Henry's married sister) and two other sisters, unnamed*. Henry's 'usual place of residence' was given as 56 Victoria Road, Knaphill, Woking UK, so it's unclear whether he lived in Rhodesia or was just visiting. There's no sign in the BMD index that his death was registered in the UK.
* I have only two sisters, Marjorie and Phyllis, who married Arthur Thurtle. They were born before their father died (see their mother's Notes).
