"Enoch was tried by the Quarter Sessions and convicted of Larceny. he was given 5 years penal servitude and sent to Gillingham Male Convict Prison. This, I guess, led to his gaining work on the docks and moving to Rotherhithe where he and Elizabeth were married on 27 August 1878.
They went on to have 4 children."
