  Notes	1921 census: at 326, Romford Road, West Ham, Essex, Alice Maud MINTER ( 50y 4m, single, born Stratford, Essex, trained nurse (sick) on own account) lived with her nephew George Austin MINTER and his wife. From Graham Minter's Minter Story, June 2012: "In 1939 Alice Maud was living at 33 North Street, Leigh on Sea. Her name at that time was Alice Maud Vernon, indicating that she had been married to, or was still married to, a Mr Vernon. However we have found no record of their marriage, or any other record of Alice Maud other than her death. She died at Southend Municipal Hospital, Rochford, on 1 March 1945. The cause of death was myocardial degeneration and hypostatic pneumonia." JM, July 2012: I've looked and can find no children registered with surname Vernon, mother's maiden name Minter. There are several death registrations between 1920 and 1944 for male Vernons in Rochford but there's no way of knowing, without death certificates, whether any of them relates to Alice's spouse/partner. JM, January 2022: in the revised version of Graham Minter's Minter story, the paragraph above has been replaced by: "In 1898, Alice appeared in Burdett’s Nursing Register as a private nurse since 1893, having received her training at West Ham Hospital between 1891 and 1893. Her address is given as 24 Hyde Gardens, Eastbourne. We have found no further definite record of her." I have therefore deleted the 1 March 1945 death.
