  Notes	1841 census: in Radnor Street, Folkestone, Henry PAIN (47, boatbuilder), Charlotte PAIN (40), William PAIN (10), Ann PAIN (7), Mary PAIN (5), Charlotte PAIN (3) and John PAIN (8 months). It's possible that both Henry and Charlotte PAIN died in the 1840s, along with some of their children. This would explain the following: 1851 census: Mary PAIN (14, servant) and John PAIN (10) were living in Church Street, Folkstone as niece and nephew of Henry WARMAN (60, Parish Clerk) and his wife Sarah (66), both Folkestone-born.

Cliff Minter has also found, in the Canterbury Marriage Allegations: 1781 May 31 Vincent Pain of Folkestone boatbuilder bachelor age 23, and Ann Lamen of the same age 20, father Peter Lamen of Goodnestone next Wingham, husbandman, at Folkestone.
