    • In 1851, before marrying, Susannah, a scholar, lived in East Street, Folkestone with her aprents, brother and grandmother.

      After Edward died Susannah retuned to Folkestone to live and was at 18 Thanet Gardens, Folkestone between 1901 and 1911. She had a laundry business assisted by her daughter-in-law at that address between 1902 and 1910.

      Pike's Folkestone, Hythe, Sandgate and Cheriton Blue Book, 1900 - 01 has a Mrs Minter at 28 Ethelbert Road, Folkestone - possibly refers to Susannah.

      1911 census: at 18 Thanet Gardens, Folkestone, Kent: Susannah (head, 73, widow, born Folkestone, Kent) and Catherine (daughter, 37, single, laundress on own account from home, born Penge, Surrey). Susannah had been married 53 years and had had 16 children, 11 living and 5 who had died. Susannah and Catherine's house had 6 rooms. The form was signed by Catherine W Minter.

      Parsons Folkestone & District Directory 1911 has Miss Minter, 18 Thanet Gardens, Folkestone as a resident.

      The list of Edward and Susannah's children doesn't contain all 16 of Edward & Susannah's children. A number of births were registered as just 'male' and 'female' in the period between 1857 and 1881 - the birth certificates would show which were Edward and Susannah's. One of the "missing" children was definitely Charles Smith Minter whose birth was registered in Q3 1883 and death in Q2 1884. He was baptised on 26 July 1883.

      Susannah was 92 when she died.
