    • As Mrs Leila Major KIDD, born Heath's Creek, Missouri, Leila appeared in Volume 47 of the Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage Books, 1890-1921 (at findmypast.co.uk). She was a descendant of:
      - Reuben SMITH (1761 - 1831, enlisted 1778 at the age of seveteen under Capt. Robert BEALL, Col. William HEATH. He applied for a pension in 1829 from Pittsylvania County, Virginia and it was allowed for 18 months actual service. He was born in Goochland County, Virginia and died in Rockingham County, N Carolina.
      - Ensign John James TRABUE, a patriot of Chesterfield County, Virginia, born in 1722.
      - John MAJOR (1740 - 1808) served as a private in Capt. James QUARLES company, 2nd Virginia militia and was at Valley Forge. Died in Franklin County, Kentucky.
      - Capt. Augustine LEFTWICH Jr enlisted as lieutenant 1780 under his brother Capt. Thomas LEFTWICH and marched to North Carolina under Col. Edward STEVENS. He was born 1744 in Bedford County, Virginia and in 1833 was allowed a pension for 4 months as lieutenant and two months captain, Virginia line.
      - Capt Thomas LEFTWICH (1740 - 1816) commanded a company in Col. Edward STEVENS' Virginia regiment. He was born and died in Bedford County, Virginia.

      Mrs. Lelia Major Kidd, one of Pettis county's pioneer families, was born in Pettis county, and died this morning at the home of her son, Phil C. Kidd in Norman, Okla.

      Phil and her other son Major Kidd, reside there, and sent word of their mother's death to her sister in Sedalia, Mrs. C. L. Patterson. Surviving are three sons, Frank, Phil C., and Major Kidd. Another son, Sam Kidd, died in 1930. - Sedalia Democrat - Wednesday, July 29, 1936 pg.4
