MAJOR, within a few days of 69 years. He was born in Kentucky, April 5th, 1803, and was baptized a member of the Christian Church, by Elder Phillip S. Fall, in 1831. He was a Deacon of the South Elkhorn church until 1847, when he removed to Missouri. He was a Deacon and clerk of Bethany church from its organization till the day of his death. He died with all his children, grand children, and great-grand children around him—all of them who had arrived at maturity, members of the church he loved. “Blessed are they who die in the Lord; they shall rest from their labors, and their works do live after them.” We copy the above from the Lexington Caucasian, and republish as Mr. Major had a large relationship in this county. He was an honored citizen of Lafayette county for many years.
