Notes |
- From findagrave.com:
"As Olga S Greenlaw, she was the author of "The Lady and the Tigers" (published by EP Dutton in 1943), a memoir about her time with her husband, COL Harvey Kenneth Greenlaw, the American Volunteer Group (AVG), and the 'Flying Tigers'.
While her husband served in China and Burma as Chief Executive Officer to Lt Gen Claire Chennault, Ms Greenlaw was an administrative clerk for the AVG and Flying Tigers unit. She kept diaries of her encounters and experiences with the pilots -- their lives, their assignments, their deaths.
Olga Clementina Sowers was born in a Mexican mining camp. Back in the United States, she was married twice before Harvey Greenlaw -- in 1928 in CA, she married Raymond Snively Kimbell; and in 1930 in Los Angeles CA, she married Henri F Withington. She married Greenlaw in 1933, and they divorced in the late 1940s."
