  Notes	From findagrave.com: THE HENRY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Fri., May 1, 1931, p. 6, col. 2. J. Harvey Stegall, age 45, one of the best known citizens of this county and a resident of Fieldale since the founding of the town 14 years ago, passed away late Friday evening at his home on Ninth street, following a brief illness. Funeral services were held from the late residence Sunday afternoon. The body was laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery here. One of the largest concourses of friends and relatives of a deceased attended the obsequies of this man, it being estimated that a funeral procession containing more that 160 automobiles being in line in the route from the home to the cemetery. Surviving are his wife and three children: Edna, James and Emerson Stegall. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Stegall of Fieldale, and the following brothers and sisters also remain: Charles, George, Watt, Jesse and Alfred, Mesdames J. P. Covington, T. Hundley, Ramon Hundley and Allen Ingram. The deceased was a carpenter by trade, and was regularly employed at Fieldale, where he helped to build the first structure, when the town was started. He was born and reared in this county, spending much of his earlier life near Fontaine. Excepting several years residence in West Virginia, he spent his entire life in Henry county.
