  Notes	Obituary on the Twiford Funeral Home (Outer Banks) website: Catherine Ann Goode Minter, 86, of Kitty Hawk, NC died peacefully, surrounded by family, at her home, on Sunday May 8, 2016. She was born on August 31, 1929 in Martinsville, VA. Ann was a daughter of David Hurd Goode and Catherine Jones Goode. Ann is survived by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Octavius Minter Jr., of Kitty Hawk, NC; her daughters, Pamela Ann Minter Melson and her husband, Butch, of Chesapeake, VA; Catherine Goode Minter Hammill and her husband, Marty, of Kill Devils Hills, NC; and her sister, Martha David Goode Ellerbe of Raleigh, NC. Ann is preceded in death by a sister, Loula Robin Goode Fields. Ann is also survived by her grandchildren, Adam Minter Comfort, Emily Catherine Comfort, Ann Leslie Hammill, and Catherine Martin Hammill; and by several cousins, nieces and nephews and their families. Following graduation from Martinsville High School in 1947, Ann attended Edgewood Junior College in New York. Ann married Bobby and became a Navy wife for 5 years. Ann and Bobby then returned to Martinsville, VA to raise their family. Ann began her profession as a real estate agent in the early 1960s at Rives S. Brown, where she completed a career of more than 30 years. Ann was active in several civic and community organizations, including Charity League of Martinsville and Henry County and The Garden Club of Virginia. Ann was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Martinsville. In retirement, Ann and Bobby moved to the Outer Banks to enjoy beach life and to be closer to family. In moving, they transferred their memberships to Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held Thursday May 12, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church. The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation at 1:00 pm in the fellowship hall prior to the service. Donations in Ann's memory can be made to Dare Home Health and Dare Hospice (P.O. Box 669 Manteo, NC 27954) or to the Alzheimer's Association for future research in Dementia.
