  Notes	Ancestry.com have service records relating to a WW1 pension claim. They show that Albert enlisted om 24 August 1914 giving his age as 19 years 89 days, born Southwark, a stamp maker. In fact he was about 15 and was discharged on 5 May 1915 having lied about his age. Albert gave his next-of-kin as his father Albert Thomas Minter, 83 Heard Place, Walworth, London SE. London, England, Electoral Registers, 1832-1965 at Ancestry.com has: 1950: 19 Stockfield Road, Streatham, London, Albert, Albert T, Catherine & Ethel B [Ethel B looks like Albert T's wife but their marriage wasn't registered until 1961]. 1953: 19 Stockfield Road, Streatham, London, Albert T & Ethel B. 1956, 1958, 1960, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965: 48 Kilburn Lane, Queen's Park, Paddington, London, Albert T & Ethel B. The same source has: 1933, 1935: 38 Bridgend Road, London SW18, Albert Thomas & Ethel Beatrice SMITH, plus the LANGDON and KERSLEY families. And, although it may have nothing to do with this Albert Thomas Minter: 1936, 1937, 1938, 87 Lothian Road, Brixton, London, Albert Thomas & Elizabeth. 1921 census: at 83, Manor Place, Newington, London, Gertrude McCARTHY (head, 43y 10m, single, born India, British subject, home duties), Maria McCARTHY (mother, 76y 8m, widow, born Lancashire), Thomas Charles McCARTHY (nephew, 18y 11m, single, born Walworth, porter at the Alliance Assurance Company, Billiter Square Buildings, London EC1), Albert Thomas MINTER (nephew, 22y 1m, single, born Walworth, out of work, was with Somerville & Co, Victoria St), Catherine Elizabeth ELLT(?) (boarder, 37y 3m, singlem born Hampstead, dress maker on own account) and Margaret DONOVAN (boarder, 26y 4m, single, born Walworth, dress maker on own account). 1939 Register: at The Gate Inn, Long Meadow, Newmarket R.D., Cambridgeshire SMITH, William E born 14 Dec 1871, married, licensee LANGFORD, Jessie E born 22 May 1906, married, unpaid domestic duties --- 1 closed record --- LANGFORD, Raymond born 21 Mar 1929, at school Minter, Ethel B born 5 Jul 1898, married, unpaid domestic duties LANGFORD, George born 8 Feb 1905, married, clerk, Metroploitan Water Board The 1939 Register entry above suggests that Albert's wife was originally Ethel Beatrice LANGFORD. A woman of this name married Bernard E HEMY in Q1 1921 (Wisbech 3b/1253). But by 1939, Ethel seems to have become a Minter and then some time later, to have adopted the surname SMALLWOOD. Without certificates, I can't work out exactly what happened, so have not used the names LANGFORD or HEMY. Ethel therefore appears here as Ethel Beatrice SMALLWOOD.
