      RONALD RAINES
      Wood River

      Ronald D. Raines, 84, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Robings Manor in Brighton.
      Born in Wood River on December 11, 1927, he was the son of Harold and Leonora (Patterson) Raines.
      A U.S. Army veteran, he had been a manager for Authorized Auto in Wood River before retiring.
      He married the former Fannie L. Minter on October 22, 1950, in Wood River. She died December 8, 2001.
      Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Freda Raines of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Allen and Tarry Raines of Cashokia; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Kevin Sethaler of Stafford, Virginia; six grandchildren, Brian Raines, Sarah (Chad) Clayton, Carla Raines, Laura (Brian) McAlister, Joshua (Colleen) Raines, and Kevin Raines; a great-granddaughter, Paige McAlister; and a sister, Beverly McVey of Carmi.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Robert and Roger Raines; and a sister, Dorothy Worthen.
      Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 19, at the 1st United Methodist Church in Wood River. Pastor Kimberly Allen will officiate.
      Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
      Memorials may be made to the 1st United Methodist Church, where he had been a longtime member and choir member.
