John H Minter

1824 - Yes, date unknown

• Name	John H Minter
Birth	1824	Chester County, South Carolina, USA   [1]
  Gender	Male
  _UID	067291AFC48A48CB8CFC2774236C2C3128BB
  Death	Yes, date unknown
Notes	1860 United States Federal Census, done on 6 June 1860, in Davis Township, Saline County, Arkansas (Post Office Prattsville) (all MINTER), John H (36, laborer, born South Carolina), Rebecca (28, born South Carolina), Cicero (9, born Mississippi), Isaac G* (6, born Mississippi) and Pernetta (5, born Mississippi). Next entry is for Joel WHITTEN, born South Carolina, and family, possibly Rebecca's relative. * in later records, including burial record, birth date appears as or is implied as 1860. Not found in later censuses apart from Isaac in 1880. However, the "Hillhouse and related families" tree at ancestry.com has John and Rebecca as the parents of two more children, George Washington Minter and James Monroe Minter, who I've added to my version of this family. But I can't find any evidence to corroborate this, other than the circumstatial evidence of: (1) the census for 1900 which shows a Jim M MINTER, aged 35, born Arkansas, parents born South Carolina. The next family on the page is Ike [Isaac] G Minter, Jim's older brother. (2) the census for 1910 which shows a George W MINTER, age 48, born Arkansas, parents born South Carolina
