Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Minter passed away Monday, August 22, 2011 at her home in Beckville. Mrs. Sidgel Charlyn Minter was born May 25, 1936 in Carthage, Texas to the marriage of Millard A. and Lola Mae Metcalf Adams. Mrs. Minter was raised and attended schools in Beckville. Sidgel married Less Lee Minter on April 23, 1954, and they enjoyed fifty-six years of marriage before his death on May 5, 2010. She loved gardening, working in her yard and cooking for her family. Mrs. Minter is preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters. Mrs. Minter is survived by her son, Less Minter, Jr., and Jan McCord of Beckville and daughter, Patricia Lewis and husband, Lester of Beckville, brother-in-law Noah Minter and wife, Linda of New London; sister-in-law, Merlene Beck of Ruston, Louisiana; grandchildren, Leslie Butler, Wesley "Bull" Butler and James Mintor and wife, Joyce; great-grandchildren Kenna Butler, Kullen Butler, "Tadpole" Halie Butler, Charlotte Butler and James Butler, Jr., dear friend Mary Crowell, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
