  Notes	From findagrave.com: The funeral for Gertrude McGuire, 86, of Martinsville, who died March 15, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Chatham Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Michael Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville and other times at the home. She was born Nov. 27, 1924, to Willie Jackson "Jack" and Claudia Minter Donavant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ramsey McGuire, who she married in 1946; and three brothers, Clarence Donavant, Claiborne Donavant and Marvin Donavant. After graduating from Martinsville High School in 1943, she went to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the U.S. Signal Corp for 26 months during World War II. She was a longtime member of Chatham Heights Baptist Church in Martinsville. Surviving are two daughters, Janice Gray of Red House, W.Va., and Carolyn Evans of Martinsville; one granddaughter; three sisters, Gladys Riddle, Lois Carnell Steagall and Ella Wright, all of Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
