  Notes	1851 census: in Victoria Terrace, Chalfont St Giles, James WORLEY ** (head, 36, ag lab, born Chalfont St Giles), Hannah WORLEY (wife, 37, born Chalfont St Giles), James WORLEY (lodger, unmarried, 21, chair maker, born Chalfont St Giles) and William STONE (lodger, unmarried, 22, chair maker, born Chalfont St Giles). ** this James Worley was the younger James Worley's second cousin. 1861 census: at 7 Canal, High Wycombe, Bucks (all WORLEY), James (head, 31, chairmaker, born Chalfont St Giles), Eliza (wife, 28, born Beaconsfield, Bucks), Eliza (daughter, 9, scholar, born Chalfont St Giles), Ellen (daughter, 7, scholar, born Chalfont St Giles) and Ernest (son, 1, born High Wycombe, Bucks). Eliza apparently died before the 1871 census, probably Q4 1861 Wycombe 3a/239. James married Martha GRACE in 1862. 1871 census: at 28 Seaham Street, Westgate, Newcastle on Tyne, Northumberland (all WORLEY), James (head, 41, chairmaker, born Chalfont St Giles), Martha (wife, 45, born High Wycombe, Bucks), Ernest (son, 11, scholar, born High Wycombe, Bucks), Ellen Grace (daughter, 12, scholar, born High Wycombe, Bucks. Also Josiah R SMITH (lodger, widower, 40, chairmaker, born Chadlington, Oxfordshire) and Wm. SMITH (son [presumably of Josiah], 12, french polisher, born Birmingham). By the time of the 1881 census James had married for a third time, although I haven't found what became of Martha. 1881 census: at 93 Blandford Street, Westgate, Newcastle on Tyne, Northumberland (both WORLEY) James (head, 51, chairmaker, born Buckinghamshire), Eliza (wife, 41, born Norfolk). Also boarders Martha I GOFF (unmarried, 23, born Newcastle) and Ada SHARP (unmarried, 24, born Sunderland). 1891 census: at 193 High Street, Hedworth Monckton & Jarrow, Durham James WORLEY (head, married, 61, chairmaker, born Buckinghamshire, St Giles). Eliza not found. 1901 census: at 106 Hope Street, Jarrow, Durham James WORLEY (relative, widower, 71, living on means, born Chaffant St Giles,Bucks). The head of the family at this address was John UMPLEBY, whose wife Eiiza, 45, was also born Chaffant [Chalfont] St Giles.
