Bertha Stanley Minter, 93, a retired postal worker, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2006.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, in Greenwood Chapel. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Memorials: Her memory may be honored by a gift to Heritage Baptist Church, 400 Davidson St., Benbrook, Texas 76126.
Bertha was born in Whitney to Clarence and Ola Eady Stanley on July 2, 1913. She attended school in Blanton and Blum. She married her children's father, C.L. "Buster" Minter, in 1936. She was a postal clerk at Stripling's Department Store for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her church family was also very special to her. Bertha faithfully attended Heritage Baptist Church in Benbrook until her death.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gladys Hampton, Nona Moore and Oneta Lambright; and brothers, Elbert and Alvin Stanley.
Survivors: Son, Dennis Ray Minter and wife, Joyce, of Acton; daughter, Virginia Nell Minter Lee and husband, Maurice B., of Benbrook; grandsons, Stanley C. Minter and wife, Terri, of Mount Vernon and Steven G. Minter of Leander; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Julia, Erickson, Benjamin and one soon to come in Mount Vernon and Seth and Brynn of Leander; Bertha's devoted dog and companion for 13 years, Cherirose; and many loving relatives and friends.
