- John, of St Mary Bredin, Canterbury when he married, was a tailor, hop planter, hotel and property owner. Admitted as a freeman of Canterbury by purchase on 10 Jun 1777. Had a tailoring business and drapery business at the High Street, Canterbury in 1793 and a woollen and drapery business in 1794. Advertised insurance against service in the East Kent Militia from 1893 to 1795. Kept the Red Lion Inn at the High Street, Canterbury in 1795.
Died after illness. Will proved 17 April 1819 at Principal Probate Registry, Somerset House.
