Drewery Thomas Minter, 81, a resident of the Leatherwood section all of his life, died at his home Monday afternoon after a long illness. He was widely known in the Leatherwood section and had been a farmer there for many years. He is survived by his widow, and the following children: Posey L. Minter, Percy W. Minter, Ernest S. Minter and Hampton Minter, all of the Leatherwood community, and Mrs. Ruby Davis, Fieldale, and Mrs. Minnie Ashby of Leatherwood, his daughters. Funeral services were held at his former home, Tuesday. Burial was made in the family grounds near the home. He was the son of the late Joe Minter and Mrs. Matilda Bocock Minter. The pallbearers were all grandsons of the deceased: Ocie Ashby, John Ashby, Willie Minter, Stafford Minter, Dewey Minter and Clifford Minter. The flower bearers were: Estell Minter, Margaret Minter, Evelyn Minter, Doris Minter, Madge Davis, Dorothy Minter, Mildred Richardson, Edna Lyons and Lelia Ramsey. They were granddaughters of Mr. Minter.
