A shipping record at Ancestry.com.au - UK Incoming Passenger Lists, 1878-1960 suggests that Walter went, either temporarily or permanently, to South Africa. A Mr W A Minter, 53, tailor, arrived on 17 April 1922 from Capetown on the 'Saxon' and gave Strand Palace Hotel [London] as his address. A tick appears in the column indicating that the person's future residence would be in the 'British possessions' so it looks as if Walter was just visiting and had emigrated permanently.
The National Archives of South Africa (online) have a document 'Walter Abram Minter Estate Papers', possibly dating from 1935, so it would appear that Walter died in South Africa. Walter Abram is the name given at the 1892 marriage.
Walter's wife definitely died in South Africa: her gravestone has been found a findagrave.com
May 2020: Walter's South African Death Notice now found at Ancestry.com. He was 69, a widower and had been a manager in the outfitting trade.
