| Notes |
- 1861 census: at 15 Johns Place, Chiswick, Walter (38, labourer), Louisa (30) and Louisa (2 months).
1871 census: at 12 Chapel Houses, Chiswick, Walter (40!, labourer), Louisa (37!), Louisa (10, scholar), Caroline (5, scholar) and Walter (8 months).
Walter and Louise are believed to have had another daughter, Harriet (whose birth doesn't appear to have been registered). In 1871, aged 7, as 'Hariot' a scholar, she was living in Bedfont, Middlesex as niece with Richard BROWN (50, labourer) and his wife Caroline BROWN (48), both born in Chiswick.
1881 census: at 4 Alfred Cottages, Chiswick, Walter (50, gardener), Louisa (49), Karline [Caroline] (14, scholar) and 'WR' [Walter] (10, scholar). Harriet now aged 18 was a servant living at Cave Cott, High Road, Chiswick.
1891 census: at 10 Paxton Road, Chiswick, Walter (58, gardener), second wife May [Mary] (36) and children Samuel (6) and Ada (1). No trace of Caroline (but she probably reappeared in 1901) or Walter junior (but he reappeared in 1901).
1901 census: no trace of Walter or Mary or of children Samuel and Ada.
1911 census: at 3 Vine Cottages, Shortlands, Hammersmith, London (3 rooms), Walter (head, 70 (sic), married, pensioner, born London), Mary (wife, 48, married 27 years, 2 children both living, born London (sic)), Ada JOHNSON (daughter, 21, married 15 months, 1 child, living, born London) and May Kathleen JOHNSON (grand child, 3 months, born London).
Form signed Walter Minter.
Although the death index shows age at death 80, it's thought that Walter probably died in Q3 1920, registered at Fulham RD.
