Faye Travis Manuel, 87, of Alexandria, born to the union of the late Rennie Lee Travis and Fairy Delightful Minter Travis of Many, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Colfax Reunion Nursing and Rehab Center.
Faye was known as the “Broiler Queen” by her co-workers at Burger King. She had a very pure heart and was a natural caregiver to anyone she met or anyone in need. There was never a shortage of sweets in her house and her favorite memories were times shared living with her sisters, when they were all labeled the “Golden Girls”. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend whose witty sense of humor and kind soul will sorely be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary S. Manuel; parents; 5 sisters; 1 brother and grandchildren, Brittany Ailene and Dustin James Manuel.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, James Manuel, Jr. (Jenny); daughter, Linda Cross (Grady); grandchildren, Stephen Manuel (Angela), Chris Manuel (Tiffany), Brad Manuel (Beth), Jessie Ransonet (Jamie) and Kadie Crawford (Jimmy); 10 great grandchildren; best friend, Linda Simmons; her grandpup, Ava Belle and a host of other family members and friends.
The family is very appreciative and would like to thank Linda and Kathleen Simmons, Cassie Crawford, Colfax Reunion Nursing and Rehab Center, and Compassionate Care Hospice for their loving care for our mother and grandmother.
