Onnie Ferrell Minter, 86, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in Houston County Nursing Home. Ferrell was born October 14, 1933 in the Creath Community to L. E. Minter, Sr. and Mary Lou “Mae” Richardson Minter. He married Dorothy Ann Kelley on September 3, 1952 and graduated Business School in May 1953. Ferrell worked for several different freight line companies such as, Ryder, Red Ball, East TX Motor Freight, and Yellow Freight Lines as office manager and dock foreman prior to his retirement. He was a member and deacon at San Pedro Baptist Church.
Ferrell was preceded in death by his parents, L.E. Minter, Sr. and Mae Minter; brother, L.E. Minter, Jr.; sisters, Essie Mae Ray and husband, Truitt, Bonnie Green and husband, Sherry; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willis and Fannie Shaver; brothers-in-law, Norford Newsom and James Cecil.
Funeral services for Onnie Ferrell Minter will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019 at San Pedro Baptist Church, Rev. Tommy Hutto and Rev. Steve Meadows, officiating. Interment to follow in New Energy Cemetery.
