      RUFFIN Phillip Ray Minter Sr., 64, of 645 Guerrant Springs Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

      A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Happy Home Congregational Christian Church and the burial will follow in Danview Cemetery in Eden.

      Mr. Minter was a native of Rockingham County and was the son of the late Webb Minter and Ruby Gauldin Redd. He was formerly employed with ITT Grinnel of Kernersville as a welder. He attended Happy Home Congregational Church. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather Curtis Redd.

      He is survived by his wife Alma Dickerson Minter of the home; sons, Phillip Ray Minter Jr. and James Michael Minter and wife Robin all of Ruffin, and Richard Irvin Minter and wife Kimberly of Reidsville; grandchildren, Phillip Ray Minter III, Thomas Arthur Minter, Jackson James Minter and Ava Grey Minter; aunts, Mildred G. Rossie and husband Carlo and Cleo G. Minter all of Eden.
