  Notes	From findagrave.com, Dec 2014: James Ronnie Minter, 67, of 815 Hazelwood Lane, Martinsville, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was born in Henry County, April 28, 1935, a son of the late Harvey Eugene Minter and the late Essie Dove Minter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Frazier Minter, in 1995; two sisters, Lily Grey Moore Ashby and Florence Minter; three brothers, Russell Minter, Clifton R. Minter and Eugene Minter. A graduate of Martinsville High School, he also attended Hargrave Military Academy and Virginia Commonwealth University. He retired as Commissioner of the Revenue for the City of Martinsville. He was a former member of the Martinsville Exchange Club and the State Board of Commissioners, where he served as vice president. He was a long-time member of Chatham Heights Baptist Church, and served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and on numerous committees. He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Minter Artz, of Waynesboro; a son, James R. Minter Jr., of Martinsville; three sisters, Bessie Keatts of Danville, Victoria Goggin of Martinsville, and Evelyn Smith of Collinsville; and four grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Chatham Heights Baptist Church, with Dr. Michael Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
