| Notes |
- Frederick's last appearance in UK censuses was in 1891. He married in 1899 in Canada. So it's reasonable to assume he emigrated in the 1890s. A possible emigration record (at Ancestry.com) is of Mr F C Wilton, labourer, adult (age not stated, unfortunately), a passenger leaving Liverpool for Quebec on the 'Parisian' on 15 August 1895.
Not found in 1901 or 1911 Canadian census.
1921 census of Canada (indexed as WALTON by Ancestry): in Notre Dame de Graces Ward, Montreal, Quebec (all WILTON), Frederick (head, 45, born England, foreman), Mathilde (wife, 40, born Quebec), Youany (daughter, 19, born Quebec), Herbert (son, 18, born Quebec) and Edward (son, 16, born Quebec).
NB this census shows Frederick's year of immigration as 1897, which throws some doubt on what's said above about when he left England.
