It shows that Frederick enlisted in the Labour Corps on 4 May 1915 giving his date of birth as 7 October 1875, Paddington and his occupation as carpet planner. His next-of kin was shown as his wife Gertrude Minter, 71 Warlock Road, Paddington, London W. Another form shows next-of-kin as son Herbert Oscar Minter of 23 Trafalgar Road, Greenwich. He was discharged, no longer fit for war service, on 25 November 1918, address then shown as 23 Trafalgar Road, E Greenwich.
Frederick left Southampton on the 'Viper' for France on 22 May 1915 and spent over 3 years in France between May 1915 and August 1918. When examined in 1918 the medical officer said varicose veins were developed in Frederick's legs 9 years ago which had gradually got worse. The condition was such as to lead to Frederick's discharge and he was assessed as 20% disabled for one year. A pension of 5s 6d for 52 weeks fron 26 November 1918 was awarded..
