Also William LETTS (lodger, 59, wood sawyer, born Barby, Northants), Sarah LETTS (lodger, 59, born Keynham, Lester) and John LETTS (lodger, 17, born Loughborough). 1861 census: at bottom of village, Sawley, Derbyshire (all CAYLESS), John (head, 36, sheet maker, born Leicester), Elizabeth (wife, 36, born Marborough, Leicestershire), George (son, 10, scholar, born Loughborough), John (son, 7, scholar, born Loughborough) and William (son, 5, scholar, born Loughborough). 1871 census: at 73 & 74 Nottingham Road (Rope Yard) (all CAYLESS), John (head, 46, rope & net maker, born Leicester), Elizabeth (wife, 47, born Narboro, Leicestershire), John (son, 17, rope & net maker, born Loughborough) and William Letts (son, 15, pupil teacher, born Loughborough). The Will of John Gregory Cayless late of Loughborough in the County of Leicester Rope and Tent Maker who died 3 January 1879 at Loughborough was proved at Leicester by Elizabeth Cayless of 72 Nottingham Road Loughborough Widow the Relict William Letts Cayless of Nottingham Road Rope and Tent Maker the son and William Gilbert of 5 Baxter Gate Loughborough Baker the Executors. Personal Estate under £1500.
