The earliest records of Minters in America show a Richard Minter and Wife
Ann in Jamestown Va. in 1620. Later records show Edward Minter, son of
Richard and Ann Minter, bringing his family from England to Virginia in
1635 to claim land due his father who was then deceased. As of this date,
I [Bob White] have not linked my family to these Minters, but I feel they were almost surely ancestors. The name Richard was used very often by American
Minters in the 17 hundreds and in early 1800.
A Desire Minter came to America on the Mayflower, but returned to England
the next year.
