  Notes	1891 census: in Slingsby, Yorkshire (all WRIGHT), Henry (head, 36, general labourer, born Goole, Yorks), Mary (wife, 26, born Coneysthorpe, Yorks), Albert (son, 7, born Coneysthorpe, Yorks), Ada (daughter, 6, born Coneysthorpe, Yorks), Harriet A (daughter, 5, born Coneysthorpe, Yorks) and Eliza (daughter, 1, born Slingsby). 1901 census: in Slingsby, Yorkshire (all WRIGHT), Henry (head, 46, general labourer, born Rawcliffe, Yorks), Mary (wife, 36, born Coneysthorpe, Yorks), Eliza (daughter, 11), George (son, 7), Arthur (son, 5) and William H (son, 3). The children were all born in Slingsby. 1911 census: in Slingsby, Yorkshire (4 rooms) (all WRIGHT), Henry (head, 57, farm labourer, born Goole, Yorks), Mary (wife, 47, married 29 years, 10 children, 8 living, 2 dead, born Coneysthorpe, Yorks), William Henry (son, 13, at school), Eustace Stanley (son, 7, at school) and Sarah Edith* (granddaughter, 5, at school). The children were all born in Slingsby. * presumably the daughter of one of Henry's daughters. 1921 census (1): in Slingsby, Malton, Yorkshire (all WRIGHT), Henry (head, 67y 9m, married, born Goole, Yorks, farm labourer not presently employed, previously with the Rev A S Brookes, Slingsby Rectory), William (son, 23y 3m, single, born Slingsby, farm labourer with Mr Potts, farmer of South Holmes, Slingsby), Stanley (son, 18, single, born Slingsby, railway porter, with the North Eastern Railway Co) and Annie ROBINSON (daughter, 34y 8m, married, born Slingsby). 1921 census (2): in Appleton le Street, Malton, Yorks, Mrs Mary WRIGHT (56y 2m, married, born Coneysthorpe, Yorks, home duties) was a visitor with Mrs A E THORPE (69y 6m, widow, born Coneysthorpe, Yorks, "not occupied for a living"). Also there was Mrs Thorpe's brother (the form says sister), Mr Fred COATES (51y 1m, single, born Coneysthorpe, Yorks, a form labourer). 15 April 2026 : until today I had Henry's death as Q2 1948 (Ryedale 1b/708.). Having obtained a copy of the 1948 death certificate I now reaise I was wrong - the Henry who died in Q2 1948 was 82, died at East End, Ampleforth, was a general (not a farm) labourer and was the uncle of the person who was present at the death, A Skilbeck of West End Ampleforth. Several Public Member Trees as Ancestry.com have Henry's death as 27 Jan 1936 at Slingsby, Malton but none give any evidence of this. My further research revealed that in fact Henry's death was on 14 January 1938 but registered as Harry Wright. I am sure this is correct because the death certificate shows that the death was registered by T[homas] H[enry] Lawn who married Henry's granddaugher Sarah Edith in 1925. As a widow, Henry's wife appeared in the 1939 Register living in Railway Street, Slingsby, Malton R.D., Yorkshire: WRIGHT, Mary born 11 April 1864, widow, unpaid domestic duties --- 1 closed record --- A few doors away lived her granddaughter Sarah Edith and her husband and children. Mary died in 1940.
