From the Martinsville Bulletin, 24 Feb 2019: Fannie Jane Minter Kimball, 88, of Martinsville, Va., passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019. She was born on November 5, 1930 to the late Jesse Thomas Minter and Lena Frances Bray Minter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Kimball; sisters, Margaret Minter Kendrick and Lottie Minter; and brothers, Lynn Minter, Neal Minter, Herman Minter, Sam Minter, Stafford Minter, and James Minter. Mrs. Kimball had worked for Old Dominion Box Company and then worked for Memorial Hospital as a dietary aide. She was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kimball Plaster of Spencer, Va.; son, James Arthur "Butch" Kimball and wife Cindy Kimball of Danville, Va.; sister, Nellie Minter Hairfield of Axton, Va.; and one grandchild, Christopher Plaster of Champaign, IL. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Jordan officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Mrs. Kimball's son, Butch Kimball at 308 Still Spring Drive, Danville, VA 24541. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 42 Mount Vernon Road, Axton, VA 24054, or to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Ctr., Glen Allen, VA 230609979, or to the American Alzheimer's Association, 355 Rio Road West, Suite 102, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
