ANN BUCKINGHAM . I am the wife of Fynn Minter Buckingham. The prisoner Cribb came into my service on the 16th of Oct., and left on the 30th, while we were out-she left the street-door open-I missed the articles stated, which were all safe when I went away-I had been gone about an hour-these are the articles-they are all mine.
AMBROSE MOORE (police-constable M 248.) I took Cribb on Friday night, the 31st. of Oct., near the Swan public-house, in the Kent-road-Curtis and another female were with her-when I took Cribb I told her she was charged with robbing her master-she said she knew all about it, and supposed this would be a six month's job for her; but she was not the only one, there were two others in it, and they were the two who were with her-she told me where she pawned the things, and I went and found them.
WILLIAM EVERED . I am shopman to a pawnbroker. I produce some things which I took in pawn from Curtis on the 31st of Oct.
ROBERT BOYCE . I am a pawnbroker. I produce this brooch and another article which I took in of Curtis on the 31st of Oct.
AMBROSE MOORE re-examined. took Curtis on the following morning-she said she had received the property, and pawned it at Westminster.
Curtis's Defence. Cribb came to my house on the Thursday night, at twelve o'clock, and said she had left her place - I asked the reason - she said the other girl persuaded her, that she had come down the Kent-road, and the other girl left her, and she had come to live with me-I went with her to pawn the articles.
CRIBB- GUILTY .* Aged 17.- Confined Six Months.
CURTIS- NOT GUILTY .
