Notes |
- 1881 census: at 41 Wreakstones Road, Kensington, London (all WILTON), Edward (35, lamplighter, born New York (British subject)), Elizabeth (30, born France (British subject)), Frederick (son, 5, scholar, born Mid ----w) and Albert (son, 1, born Mid ----w)
Edward and family were at 41 Wreakstone Road when Frederick, Albert and Herbert were baptised. It's not known what became of Herbert, who doesn't appear on any census: I can't find his birth or death registration.
When Winifred was baptised the address given was 31 Woodfield Place. A note beside her entry suggests she was born at Emmanuel Mission Station but no date is given.
1891 census: at 113 Lancefield Street, Chelsea (all WILTON), Edward (39, painter, born New York, USA), Elizabeth (44, born Boulogne sur Mer), Frederick (son, 15, solicitors office boy, born Paddington, London), Albert (son, 11, scholar, born Kensington, London), Lionel (son, 9, scholar, born Kensington, London), Bessie (daughter, 7, scholar, born Paddington, London) and Winifred (daughter, 5, scholar, born Marylebone, London).
Edward and family were at 113 Lancefield Road when Bessie, Henry Lionel and Mary were baptised. I haven't found any further trace of Mary.
1901 census: at 199a Kilburn Lane, Willesden, Middlesex (all WILTON), Edward (50, house painter, born America, British subject), Elizabeth (54, born France British subject), Henry (son, 19, pastrycook, born Kensington, London), Bessie (daughter, 17, tailoress, born Paddington, London) and Winnie (daughter, 15, born Paddington, London).
Edward's death may be the one registered as Edward Harold A WILTON, age 51, in Q3 1902 at Hendon (3a/114). But the name doesn't quite match.
1911 census: at 199a Kilburn Lane, Willesden, Middlesex (4 rooms) (all WILTON), Elizabeth Hannah (head, 67, widow, married 36 years, 7 children, 5 living 2 died, keeps house, born Boulogne sur Mer British subject, deaf), Bessie Catherine (daughter, 27, single, tailoress, born Paddington, London) and Winifred (daughter, 26, single, compositor wth the Women's Printing Society, born Paddington, London).
