  Notes	From findagrave.com, Mar 2015: Funeral services for Mrs. Emogene Minter Knight, 83 of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wade Maberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Restland Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Family visitation will be Saturday evening from 6– 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Knight passed away August 9, 2012 in Carthage. Mrs. Emogene Minter Knight was born October 26, 1928 in Gary, Texas. She was one of eleven children born to the marriage of Alvie Grover and Emma Jane Ball Minter. Emogene was raised in Panola County and graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1944. She met and later married Rudolph Knight on September 5, 1946 and celebrated 58 years together until he preceded her in death on September 17, 2004. Mrs. Knight owned "Beauty By Knight" for 10 years, drove a school bus for Carthage ISD for 28 years, volunteered helping the disabled students at Carthage Primary and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Emogene is also preceded in death by her parents, son, Bill Knight, three brothers and six sisters. Mrs. Knight is survived by her children, Don Allen Knight and wife Yvonne of Carthage, Pat Moon and husband James of Carthage, Novelle Knight of Gilmer, Tanya Maberry and husband Wade of Gilmer and Skipper Knight and wife Shelia of Carthage; brother, Jeff D. Minter of Canada; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; special friend, Quilla Patterson; other relatives and a host of friends. The family wishes to say a special "Thank You" to the nurses and staff of Heart's Way Hospice and Carthage Healthcare. If desired, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Knight's name to Heart's Way Hospice.
