      930 US Federal Census: at 27 East 101st Place, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois (all YONAITIS), August (head, 40, married at 29, born Lithuania, immigrated to USA in 1916, druggist in own drug store), Louise (wife, 27, married at 15, born Lithusania, immigrated to USA in 1913), August (son, 10, born Illinois) and Raymond (son, 8, born Illinois). Also two sisters-in-law, both born in Lithusania, both immigrated in 1913, Stella PETROLOBICH* (26, single, correspondence clerk, mail order) and Vera PETROLOBICH* (23, single, saleslady, drug).

      Per Jennifer Yos, 'Yonaitis' became 'Yos' in 1931 - confirmed by Ancestry's collection "U.S. Naturalization Record Indexes, 1791-1992", which has a record for August Yonaitis (Yos) of 27 E. 101st Pl., Chicago, born 28 August 1889, naturalized 28 October 1931. The card says "Court order to change name from August Yonaitis to August Yos."

      August petitioned for US citizenship on 29 May 1931. His wife, by then a widow, petitioned on 1 November 1934.
