  Notes	1861 census: in Commercial Street, St Thomas, Birmingham, William H (26, jewellers managing clerk, born Edgbaston, Warwickshire), Selina N (wife, 23, born Birmingham) and William R N (son, 1, born Birmingham). William's first wife died at only 29 in 1866. Although she was born in Birmingham in 1861, William and Selina's daughter Lucy wasn't baptised until 1869 by which time Lucy's mother had died. The baptsmal record correctly shows Lucy's parents as William and Selina. On the same day, William's brother Samuel Benton Grimley and his wife Eleanor had their daughter Frances (born 6 May 1867) and son Percy Franklin (born 29 December 1868) baptised, also at St Mary's. Both William and Samuel were wholesale jewellers of Ealing. 1871 census: at 1 Stanley Villa , Blandford Road, St Mary Ealing, Middlesex, Wm H (36, commission agent, born Birmingham), Frances (wife, 37, born Willenhall, Staffs), Lucy (9, scholar, born Birmingham), Montague Allen (son, 6 months, born Ealing), Jane STROUTS * (visitor, 17, farmers daughter, born Kingsdown, Kent) and a female servant. Son William, 11, was staying with his uncle Richard and aunt Lucy NASH at 9 Commercial Street, St Thomas, Birmingham. * Jane STROUTS married John Minter born 27 December 1856 in 1880. Not found after 1871.
