Notes |
- It's not clear where the name Vincer came from (although William's supposed aunt Elizabeth married a Vincer). No baptism has been found for William so we do not know whether he was baptised as William Vincer Minter but his second marriage and his death were registered as William Vincer Minter.
1841 census: aged 20, possibly a male servant with Lord Ernest Bruce and his wife in Curzon Street, Mayfair, London.
1850: a servant in Chelsea in May and a porter in Bath in August.
An excellent article 'The Minter family and their work in workhouses across England' by Ed Grimsdale can be found at http://www.winslow-history.org.uk/winslow_families-minter.shtm

Also, as a visitor, Mary Edith A V Minter (8, born Brixton, Surrey) - this was presumably the daughter of William's son William's second wife Elizabeth Abbott.
November 2020: Anthony Steven has discovered an obituary and two advertisements for auctions of William Vincer Minter's property and belongings. The three items appeared in local newspapers and are reproduced on the Minter Exchange website.
