  Notes	Wade was born in Collin County Texas and grew up in Collin and Bowie counties. He served in the US Navy during WW I aboard the USS South Carolina (BB-26). After the war, he returned to Simms, in Bowie county, married and was a farmer for most of his life. After WW2, he worked several years on the county road crew. His only child that surived to adulthood*, James was killed at Pearl Harbor while serving aboard the USS Califorina. Wade died on the operating table at Baylor Hospital in Dallas while doctors were attempting to clear obstructions from the vessels which supply blood to the brain. * a female child was born to R W and Ella Minter on 11 October 1925 at New Boston, Bowie, Texas. 1930 United States Federal Census: in Precinct 4, Bowie County, Texas (all MINTER, born Texas), Robert W (head, 34, farmer, general farm), Irene E (wife, 28) and James D (son, 8). Also Lolern THOMPSON (niece, 10, born Texas). 1940 United States Federal Census: in Bowie County, Texas (all MINTER, born Texas), Robert W (head, 45, work on own farm), Ella (wife, 39, farm helper) and James D (son, 18). The family was at the same location in 1935. 1950 United States Federal Census: in Bowie County, Texas (both MINTER, born Texas), R Wade (head, 55, farmer of own farm) and Ella (wife, 49, farm helper).
