| Notes |
- A shipping manifest at ancestry.com shows that Elijah Bevington, aged 24, a miner of 46 Hednesford Road, Heath Hayes, Cannock, left Liverpool on the SS Montcalm on 21 March 1924 bound for St John New Brunswick. Also on board was Elijah's brother Charles, 21. They arrived on 29 March.
Ancestry also has a record showing that Elijah crossed into the USA on 4 July 1929. By then he was 29 yrs 5 months, a machine operator of Canadian nationality. He carried $20 and was headed for Detroit, Michigan. Name and address of relative in Canada was given as Elijah's mother, Sarah Bevington of 79 Glendale Ave, Sandwich, Ontario.
I haven't found any later trace of Elijah. In an email in September 2020, Anne Wigle-Occhipinti writes that Elijah "died as a youngish adult of TB".
