    Notes
    • Information from Ron Minter, December 2006:
"I was contacted through Genes Reunited by my cousin (Dominic Francis Michael Moore, b.1941) whom I have never met. He is the son of James Charles MacNally from Co. Tyrone N.Ireland, b.ca 1900, d. 1980) and my Aunt Evelyn Marjorie Minter (b.1908, d.1999). [Dominic Moore adds 'My father...was a civil servant in the Censorship Dept. when he and my mother met during WW2 when they were both volunteer auxiliary fire fighters in the Blitz. It turned out he was already married, having a wife & daughter he had left in N. Ireland.'] They never married as MacNally was a Roman Catholic and would not divorce his wife. James and Evelyn lived together [with Dominic, in Chelsea] but separated in 1952, and Evelyn married Dr. Edward Moore on 13 April 1953 (as his 3rd wife) and lived at 140, Park Lane, London W.1. [Dominic's name was changed to Moore by Deed Poll when Evelyn and Dr Moore married.] Dr. Moore was killed in a car accident on 15 May 1962. [Eve then moved from Park Lane to Marloes Road, Kensington].

We never had any contact with this family (too grand for us?), but we occasionally saw Evelyn when she visited Gertrude (her mother) as Gertrude lived with my parents at Tuam Road in Plumstead until her death in 1978 at age 100. Evelyn always visited alone and her family was never mentioned, at least not to me. She may have talked to my parents, and especially my mother who was a school friend of hers. Our branch of the Minters was always a bit secretive and never very close. The exception was Doris, (my father's and Evelyn's sister) who was much more open and easy going.
Dominic contacted me to know whether I had any information on Anderson Fuller. This name cropped up on both our family trees, but I do not think that Dominic realised that he was contacting his long lost cousin!! In fact he did make the contact through a friend who also has a tree on Genes Reunited.
Our Grandmother was Gertrude Fuller, b.1877. Her parents were Anderson Fuller b.ca. 1840 at Swaffham Prior, Cambs. and Elizabeth Watson b. Beamish Forge, Durham, m.Q2/1a 509 at St. George's, Hanover Sq. London.
Anderson Fuller appears on the 1851 census as a 10 year old scholar, is missing on the 1861 census (wonder why) and reappears on the 1871 census with wife Elizabeth at 32 Salisbury Street, Marylebone, and on the 1881 census at 64 Salisbury Street with his wife Elizabeth and 5 children; Ernest, Gertrude, Herbert, Oscar, Thomas. Dominic Moore adds: Anderson Fuller is shown as a servant at Curzon Street, London, on his marriage certificate of 1865. I suspect he was a servant in 1861, perhaps also at Curzon Street. I haven't found him on the 1861 census, but he could have been travelling to or from his parents at Swaffham Prior:"

January 2007: contact now made with Dominic Moore, who provided more information about his mother, including her birth date and place and further information about his family, which is included above. When Evelyn was born, her father's occupation was shown as carpet planner (in 1901 he was a cabinet maker).

March 2008: Dominic has done further research and his notes about his mother are reproduced below:
She met (1) JAMES CHARLES MACNALLY c1940 in London, when they were volunteer fire fighters during the WW2 Blitz. He was born 29 JAN 1901 in Dungannon, County Tyrone, N. Ireland, and died 1973 aged 71 at Lyne of Gorthleck, Invernesshire, Scotland. James was already married, with a wife & daughter in Scotland. He was in the Civil Service, Censorship Department. As a Roman Catholic, he would not divorce, but lived with Eve & their son as man, wife & child. Eve developed cancer of the uterus & later left James c1952 as a result of his womanizing & callous behaviour. She married (2) DR.EDWARD MOORE 13 APR 1953 in Westminster, London. He was considerably older & proved no better. He was born 1892 in Unknown, and died 15 MAY 1962 at Higham House, Salehurst, Robertsbridge, E Sussex, as the result of a car accident.
(J C MACNALLY continued living at 3, The Vale until 1961, his wife & daughter (Margaret?) came to live with him once more.
1962-1967: he lived at 49 Sedgeford Road, Shepherds Bush, London W12.
1968-1973: he lived at The Crachan, Lyne of Gorthleck,,Invernesshire, Scotland, until his death.)
