  Notes	I can't find John in the 1940 census. I'm assuming the tombstone in Brunswick Memorial Park is for John and his wife, although I have no real evidence for this. However, the owner of at least one tree at Ancestry has reached the same conclusion. The tree in question (Dorsey/Shankle2012) comments on John's death: "Killed by drunk driver on Causeway bridge to St. Simons's Island" The Dorsey/Shankle2012 tree also has two children, the details for whom I have copied.
