Also Harriet(?) SAWTELL(?) (visitor , widow, 72, formerly baker, born ???, Somerset). 1871 census: in Fivehead, Somerset (all STODGELL, born Fivehead) Simeon (head, married, 32, lime burner), Emily (wife, 32), Charles (son, 10, scholar), Mary (daughter, 8, scholar), John (son, 7, scholar), Julia (daughter, 5) and Frank (son, 1). Also a lodger, James HARVALD. 1881 census: at Langford House Fivehead, Somerset (all STODGELL, born Fivehead) Simeon (head, married, 42, ag lab), Emily (wife, 42), Frank (son, 11, scholar) and Louisa (daughter, 6, scholar). On the same page are William STODGELL (58, born Fivehead) and his wife and family and Henry STODGELL (30, born Fivehead) and his wife and family. On the next page is Harriet STODGELL (72, a widow born in Stoke St Gregory, Somerset). Not found in the 1891 UK census because he'd emigrated to Canada: ancestry.com's collection of New York Passenger Lists, 1820 - 1957 shows that Simeon, labourer, and Emily, wife, both 48 and born in England, were on the 'Alaska' which arrived at New York from Liverpool and Queenstown, Ireland on 2 May 1887. Their daughter Mary, aged 25 born England, appears to have been on board as well although she wasn't listed next to her parents.
