| Notes |
- December 2018: Melody Lee provided the following information:
"Herbert William Lee born Feb 5, 1912 in Birmingham; at the time Robert was a postman the same as he was in Dublin.
At age 14 (1926) Herbert was sent to Canada with the Salvation Army Boys. I have some documents about that.
Usually a boy who arrived in Canada at this time worked on farms.
It is not known how Herbert came to be a Salvation Army Boy but he might have been roaming the streets, not in school, or he might have volunteered himself or maybe his father applied for him to try for a better life. Herbert never spoke about his father only his mother.
The ship's manifest names his father and his address so we know his father was alive in 1926.
He married a Bertha Margaret Mott July 29, 1931 and died Nat 24m 1981 in Sudbury, Ontario
They had two children a girl who died at birth and was not named and a son Harvey Byron Lee born Feb 14, 1932 and who died in Vancouver, BC Sept 11, 2009
Herbert and Bertha divorced but don't have date.
Herbert William Lee remarried Sep 19, 1947 in Ottawa, Ontario to Annie May Shapka.
They had two children, Michael born 1949 and Linda born 1958.
Herbert died Nov 16, 1980. Annie May died April 6, 1991 in Pitt Meadows, BC."
