  Notes	1850 United States Federal Census, in District 46, Jasper, Georgia (both MINTER, both born Georgia), John (26, farmer) and Mary (23). The next entry is for John W (60) and Mary (48) HARDWICK, probably Mary's parents. The above is the only piece of documentation I can find. Clifton Minter (and several others in trees at Ancestry.com) have John's death on 9 December 1886 and I have adopted this even though I can't find its source. Clifton Minter has a burial in December 1886 at Johnny Minter Cemetery, Bethel, Jasper. This appears to be the wrong name, it should probably be just 'Minter Cemetery' but in any case I haven't found the burial. I don't know when John's wife Mary died. Some sources have John's death as 1863 - if that was the date, rather than 1886, it's possible that Mary remarried. But I've found no evidence of this.
