  Notes	The descendants of Jeremiah are mostly taken from a single source, 'The Genealogy of Brian William Minter' at Genealogy.com, February 2102. This has been supplemented by other sources where necessary. This tree was put together by Brian William Minter who lives in Grand Prairie, Texas with his wife and family. Brian has Jeremiah as James Jeremiah but I have not adoped the 'James'. March 2012: having looked at a number of public member trees at Ancestry and at Clifton Minter's tree, I now think Brian William Minter may have got it wrong and that the wife and family he has associated with 1796 Jeremiah Minter actually belong to 1794 James Minter. I have therefore transferred Elizabeth and the 6 children from Jeremiah to James. Jermiah appears in 66 (at March 2012) public member trees at Ancestry. He is variously named as James Jeremiah, Jermiah, Jeremiah A. and Jeremiah Attention. But most have the same birth details, 23 June 1796, Woodford. Most also have Jeremiah's death as 23 December 1888 in Colorado, either Denver or Arapahoe. There may be confusion with James Minter, also said by some to have died in Arapahoe in 1898. The consensus is that Jermiah was married to Sarah "Sallie" McDOWELL. March 2019: found at ancestry.com, the application to join the Sons of the American Revolution of Arthur Wellington Adams II, who claimed he was descended from Col. Samuel McDOWELL, an ancestor of the above-named Sarah "Sallie" MaDOWELL. The application lists Sarah's husband as Jeremiah A MINTER. It's believed that Sarah died in 1839. I found Federal Censuses for 1850, 1860 and 1870 which show Jeremiah's wife as Mary, 10 years his junior. There's one record at ancestry for the marriage of Jeremiah Minter and Mrs Mary HORTEN on 1 May 1848 at Marion, Missouri - this looks like Jeremiah's second marriage. 1850 US Federal Census: in Marion County, Missouri (all MINTER), Jeremiah (53, farmer, born Kentucky), Mary (43, born Kentucky), Sarah J (19, born Missouri), Ellen (15, born Missouri), Henry B (14, born Missouri) and Susan (11, born Missouri). Also a student Hiron E HORTON (16, born Kentucky). These children must all have been from Jeremiah's marriage to Sarah "Sallie" McDOWELL 1860 US Federal Census: in Marion County, Missouri (both MINTER), Jeremiah A (63, farmer, born Kentucky) and Mary (53, born Kentucky). Also Joseph LUCKY (83, married, farmer, born Kentucky [probably Mary's father]). 1870 US Federal Census: in Marion County, Missouri (both MINTER), Jeremiah E (sic) (74, farmer, born Kentucky) and Mary (63, keeping house, born Kentucky). 1880 US Federal Census: in Philadelphia, Marion County, Missouri (both MINTER), Jeremiah A (83, farmer, born Kentucky, father & mother born Virginia) and Mary (73, keeping house, born Kentucky, father born S Carolina, mother born Virginia).
