- Per Tinch Minter, whose younger sister found a slip of printed paper, Richard was born at 10.30 pm.
1851 census: Richard (16) was an apprentice to a 'hardware man', in Thoroughfare Street, Marlesford.
1861 census: Richard and his brother Thomas were living in The Thoroughfare, Marlesford, both ironmonger's assistants.
1871 census: in Doric Place, Woodbridge, Richard D (36, hardwareman), Hannah (34), Richard E (6, scholar), Ellen (5, scholar) and Annie M (3 months).
London Gazette 21 April 1876:
NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, John
Webster Issitt and Richard Dunnett Minter, as Hardwaremen, Shippers, and General Agents, at Woodbridge, in the county of Suffolk, under the style or firm of Issitt and Minter, was dissolved, as and from the 31st day of December, 1875, by mutual consent. All debts due and owing to and by the said late firm will be received and paid by the undersigned, Richard Dunnett Minter, by whom the business will in future be carried on.
As witness our hands this 7th day of April, 1876.

The Will of Richard Dunnett Minter late of Woodbridge in the County of Suffolk Hardwareman who died 3 July 1876 at Woodbridge was proved at Ipswich by Alfred Jeffries House Decorator and George Carter Linen Draper both of Woodbridge and William Minter of Wickham Market in the said County General Shopkeepr the Brother the Executors.
London Gazette 16 January 1877 - an announcement concerning claims against Richard Dunnett Minter's estate.
1881 census: in 'Thoroughfare', Woodbridge Hannah (widow, 43, annuitant), Richard E (16, hardware apprentice), Ellen (15, scholar) and Annie M (10, scholar).
Kelly's Directory 1883 lists Mrs Minter, Elm house, Thoroughfare as a Woddbridge private resident. Richard Minter of Thoroughfare is also listed, possibly an out-of-date reference to Hannah's late husband.
1891 census: in Cumberland Street, Woodbridge, Hannah (widow, 54, living on own means), Richard E (26, ironmongers assistant), Ellen (25) and Annie M (20).
