  Notes	Not found in 1940 census but evidently born in 1935 as the following, copied from findagrave.com, shows: Lynn Minter, 73, of Axton, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He was born on Jan. 14, 1935, in Axton to Jesse Minter and Lena Bray Minter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret, and a brother, Sam. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Axton and was retired from the Va. Dept. of Highways after more than 30 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Minter of the home; a daughter, Teresa Bassett of Axton; one granddaughter; two brothers, Herman Minter of Axton and Neal Minter of Martinsville; and two sisters, Nellie Hairfield of Pittsylvania County and Fannie Kimble of Martinsville. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Jordan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and other times at the home of Pattie Griggs, 4562 Mt. Valley Road, Axton. Bassett Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
